Our experience with Lee Camblin and Veterans First Mortgage was mixed. Lee was professional and courteous throughout the refinance process, but unfortunately, we received information that was confusing and, at times, conflicting. One example involved our August mortgage payment. We were advised by email not to make the August payment, and we confirmed that we had not made it. However, on the day of closing, we were then told that the August payment needed to be made. Situations like this created unnecessary confusion during a process where clear and accurate communication is extremely important. Ultimately, the conflicting information left us without the level of confidence we would have expected at closing. Although the refinance was completed, we were left questioning whether everything had been handled correctly and whether we ultimately received the most competitive interest rate available to us. Lee was professional in his interactions with us, but based on our experience, I would recommend that anyone working with Veterans First Mortgage carefully review the loan documents, confirm important instructions in writing, and ask questions whenever the information provided does not appear consistent.
