Everything about the process went great right up to closing. Newrez failed to provide the required documentation to my title company on time, causing significant stress and very nearly moving my closing date on the home back.

Communication was great at the beginning. As we got closer to closing, we had to chase a lot of things down and we were asked for the same information more than once. The intetest level from the Newrez team seeming to slack off right when we needed them the most.

Blake and the loan officer portion part of the loan were great. The big slowdown was in the Underwriting half. It would have been better to ask for all required documents at once, not duplicating docs already given. Big delays in moving forward due to minor requests. Even at closing numerous docs were requested and that process took over3 hours. Just not smooth this time and we?ve had NewRez loans prior to this.

Blake McCarn kept in touch with me very well throughout the almost 3 years we spent looking for a home. Also, when it looked like our loan processor was not going to be able to get everything done in time for our settlement Blake jumped right in going well above and beyond to make sure our date was met. He understood how incredibly important that date was since I was pulling money from my IRA to complete the transaction and only have 60 days to put the money back in my IRA or would have to pay taxes and a big penalty for taking it out at my age. Blake McCarn is the reason I kept my new mortgage with New Rez!

The processor person who I dont even remember her name was not acting with urgency, where Blake had to step in to complete her job and tasks to get my loan across the finish line in a tight deadline. New Rez/Blake compensated for her massive pitfalls. Again, Blake/Stephen was a great recommendation, and I look forward to additional loan opportunities that New Rez has to offer. hopefully next time we have an condensed timeline to execute.

I believe Blake did a good job overall. I believe that if your portal/page was easier to get to so I can upload documents it would have made it easier to get all of my documents to him. My credit union had a portal and it was easy to see that it was received and status of the application.

In the beginning Blake was very attentive always calling and giving me updates or asking for updates. He was very personable, pleasant to talk to. Towards the end I needed information before signing a form. I called several times and left messages and I did not get a response. The last time I called I told the young man that answered the phone that I want to work with someone else. I received a call from Blake after that. That was frustrating and disappointing.

Blake was great at being quick, once we had a contract--- and accommodating me by emailing all information, so that I would have electronic record of the process.

Blake was fantastic! My loan processor could have communicated better. She asked me for documents I had already uploaded and did not get my final loan documents to me three days before closing as expected. They came the evening before closing as I was on the way to the bank, hoping they?d come in time to get a check. I wasn?t sure who would be sending me documents and when. She asked if I had questions but I wasn?t always sure what to ask. It would have been more helpful if she had taken time to explain the process. My realtor would tell me to expect something through the title company but then it would come through the loan processor. It was confusing.

Easy experience always helpful

Blake did a great job working through the process.

So Blake was amazing. Very helpful and numbers were spot on. Once we were transfered past Blake I can not say the same. After being transfered to Alexa the mortgage processor that we worked with her a few days and then she was let go from the company . We then had to be transfered again to Jonathan who's email changed half way through the process and it was all a little wierd and not confidence inspiring. Then our close was pushed back on the day before we were to close and move in due to a shed outbuilding that was locked and pictures were not taken of. Which cost me 1000 dollars in truck rentals and hotels. But Blake was amazing.

If we were able to close on time, Had to stay in a hotel extra due to the fact that we did not close on time as we had it scheduled due to missing documents from the processer which could have been submitted if notified before hand. It was a very stressful close for us as we were moving from one state to another and had to pay extra for the UHaul as well as hotel stay.

Blake is a very dedicate and knowledgeable load officer. He is trustworthy and will go above and beyond the sphere of his responsibility to make a successfully business transaction. Our relationship started as a business one but ended as a start to friendship 3000 miles apart.
