Shane was great and answered my questions quickly. Tash communication wasn?t as good. Overall I just wanted my loans in the same place but I felt I needed way more information and was asked same things over because communication internally and wasn?t the best. Title team and Newrez should have worked together better and I shouldn?t have had to do the middle man. Should offer little something to returning customers as well even if a second home.Still had a pretty good experience overall.

Loan officers attitude

My loan officer Shane, was fantastic. He did make a mistake on rate buy down and credits, but I was well informed and he followed up with everything and answered every phone call I made to him. Frencesca- my loan processor, was not as efficient. A lot of my phone calls went unanswered, and emails took up to a week with no responses.

Shane maintained constant and efficient communication throughout the whole process, always adapting to my own schedule. He also combined professionalism with a personal touch that seemed genuine and natural.

Overall, the process was smooth. There was a snag toward the end of clearing to close but the team rallied together and worked through it to get us where we needed to be. We were closing very close to Christmas, as well, and they still helped us up til the last minute.

There were two distinct portions of this loan. I will summarize them. First, Shane McCurry was absolutely outstanding. He communicated well, knew how to explain things in simple terms, was patient and more than willing to answer questions. If he didn't know the answer to something, he would find out and follow up 100% of the time. He is thorough, detailed, and sees things to completion. Shane and his team did an unparalleled job throughout this loan. The underwriting team most certainly left something to be desired. There was the delay with closing because the appraiser went on vacation and the underwriter failed to forecast that this could be an issue. That delayed closing for two days. There was also the fact that new conditions continued to appear on the funding of the loan after the conditional approval, to the point where I was informed that if I didn't come up with $6,000, the loan would not be funded (after the due diligence period, so I would have lost $8,000). I submitted paperwork several times to the underwriting team, frequently duplicates of the same document. It was so convoluted and disorganized that Shane had to step in several times to explain in laymen's terms what needed to happen. My wife had to leave work early because the underwriting team failed to inform me that she needed to be present at closing. Very underwhelming performance.
