Aaron was a go getter from the very first conversation we had, if he didn’t have an answer to a question he would call back when he had the answer. The whole Newrez team was phenomenal and even if stuff on the app seemed like it was moving I knew it was as they stayed in touch with the realtor as well. The loan processor (Lisa) was able to look at documents needed and know if they were what was needed or not explain what was actually needed.

The crew was great, everything else wasn't

I used Newrez w/Aaron for a refi and had a great experience. So Aaron was my first choice on my PM loan. He answered all my questions and was in constant communication with me throughout the process.

Underwriting - 4 days before closing were asking for the littlest details that made the end process less pleasant (for example - they wanted statements from Best Buy credit card, which I don?t have, for a $90 one time purchase that came out of my checking account). They did credit check, should know I don?t have Best Buy credit card.

Communication with me

Our questions were answered quickly and our concerns were heard. We never considered shopping our mortgage. Newrez has been good to us for 16 years, we appreciate that. You and Lidia were very professional, yet approachable. That is a tremendous combination when conducting business.

I was completely satisfied with the assistance and response I received from Aaron Mitchell and Vanessa Baxter. Both of these individuals were helpful and patient in their conversations with me. I felt the underwriting process was too lengthy, too repetitive in nature and at times, the information requested from me was borderline nonsensical. Nonsensical in the fact that information requested was repetitive in nature. I was asked to provide the same information 2 or 3 times. I was disappointed in the responses and ?conditions? I received from the underwriter team. I continually, right up until notice of final approval tried to get it understood that my side business is a cash business - I provide a service by refereeing basketball games - and not a brick and mortar type business with assets, equity and liabilities. I was asked to provide this same information in a different format 3 different times. My CPA even advised that I find a different mortgage company as my current choice clearly had no idea what they were looking for. I?m a retired postal worker. I receive a lifetime government pension. I was surprised when I was asked to provide the name of the private company that managed my pension. My pension is like a monthly paycheck. With each paycheck I receive a paystub that lists deductions. For taxes, health plan payments etc. I had to explain this information 3 different times by providing 3 different documents each of which provided the same information. The explanation provided to me for this was the underwriter needed to ensure the deductions were not a sign that I was paying off some ?undeclared debt?. I would say my main issue was the length of time my application spent going through the underwriting process. It seemed the repetition of having to satisfy the same ?conditions? multiple times was frustrating for me and caused the entire process to proceed at a snails pace.

He worked with me step by step and explained to .e everything.

Everything was excellent. We had a slow down at the end, but overall it went well.

Not only did Aaron keep me in the loop on all updates, the NewRez app kept all documents organized and updated me timely on any outstanding needs. This was my 2nd home mortgage through NewRez and I would not have changed a thing.

The responsiveness of Aaron and Andrew left nothing to be desired! In a stressful situation, their response times made things a little less stressful!

Aaron was great to work with. Some constructive feedback though would be around the online portal. I submitted my application online and attached most of the required documents. Ended up needing to email them over again. Not sure if the loan officer could see them or didn?t look. Also after having uploaded them, then emailing them, the status on the portal still had them all as to do items which was very confusing.

The underwriting team continued to make additional requirements, making the process take longer than needed.

Don?t ask for payroll numbers and passwords. When Frank Walton quit you should have been right on it to continue working. Don?t send emails that officers didn?t send; it?s redundant and confusing. Have a check system for underwriting; ours missed something and caused unnecessary delays.

I'd prefer if this process could have been entirely paperless. We received multiple packages of documents throughout the process. My husband and I, as co-borrowers, live in the same home and each of us received several packages of documents throughout the process. If there was an option to go paperless and I missed it, apologies for the comments. I also received several emails alerting me to tasks needing to be completed, only to login and see no tasks. Nothing negative to comment on regarding the individuals that worked with us through this process. Knowledgeable, pleasant, and responsive.

Aaron was great. Andrew and I seemed to have some communication issues. Overall from the time we signed papers to closing was 41 days including weekends and holidays. That is good.

Easy, fast, and informative

Everything was clear and ontime

Aaron Mitchell and Kevin Wambold were amazing to work with. As a first-time home buyer, I had many questions about the mortgage process that they both were able to answer thoroughly to help me feel comfortable and in safe hands. However, one major frustration that I had with this process was with my assigned underwriter, Lindsey Kool. Not only did she come off unorganized, with no attention to detail, and little time management/task prioritization skills, these issues greatly affected my trust in NewRez as a company. She requested for documents that ended up being unnecessary and for documents that I had already submitted and I ended up having to resubmit with highlighting on the information that she was inquiring about. While Aaron and Kevin were great individuals to work with, what does it say about the company as a whole who may or may not have trained all of their staff properly? Especially in the buying process (compared to refinancing), time management is extremely important as there is a relatively hard closing date for the loan to be processed. Again, I'd like to thank Aaron and Kevin for all of their help and quick responses to help ease my anxiety as much as they could. I could not have asked for a better team!
