Brandon and Jonathan were excellent to work with and helpful when things got gummed up. What gummed it up was the streamlined appraisal. Distorted, pixilated photos weren't helpful to underwriters, prompting a full appraisal. The full appraisal took less time and provided much better information relevant to the value of our home. The streamlined appraisal resulted in many delays in the process.

Easy and timely

Brandon was great! No complaints there. I would recommend him personally, did a great job and kept us informed and was easy to get ahold of. However I?m not sure I would recommend NewRez because I pay my insurance with my mortgage every month (paid a year upfront when I bought my home last year) and they haven?t paid my home insurance company, my home insurance is threatening to cancel my insurance due to non payment. I?ve called NewRez a bunch of times and no one has helped with this issue. I was told to go ahead and make a payment to my insurance company, but then where?s all the money I?ve been sending them for the insurance, why aren?t they making the payment?? Very confusing.

Brandon was great, very thorough and easy to communicate with. My experience with new Rez though has been sub par. We were paying our taxes with our morgage but they were not paid to our county and a tax lien on the house. We also never had out insurance paid that we were paying to new Rez every month and luckily didn?t have anything bad happen. A better system needs to be instituted to ensure these things don?t happen again.

Underwriting team was very inefficient. They would ask for pieces of information over multiple days when they could have asked for all the relevant documents at once. This created delays in establishing closing date. I personally had to push NewRez to get the final mortgage documents ready and then convince Title company to urgently process the full package and have it ready for closing. This is an area where NewRez can make improvements.
