After everything was done, it’s been a fairly good experience. There were things that we went over very quickly… yes the out of pocket was this, but I didn’t know I was buying two points until I saw the paperwork and my costs were 11k plus. They took the time to explain the process, answered any questions I had completely and honestly, and made the process go seamlessly. Jason knows the process well enough to ask for additional documentation upfront in order to shorten the time necessary to complete the process. As a result, the proess was shortened to 30 days. I would also prefer my debts be paid directly to the creditors as a delay is created when having to deal with the mail service. This delay made it impossible to pay my bills on time at the beginning of the month, therefore I will be overpaying my creditors and then having to retrience the overpayment myself. I would have preferred the debts be paid directly to avoid another month or two with dealing with said creditors. I would recommend this change in the future.

When we contacted NewRez it was because we had a "relationship " with them due to our current mortgage - We expect the Mortgage agent/processor to be the 'expert' in these matters and know the current state of the market... It just so happens my bad luck that the market was poised to drop at or about the same time we started this process... At or about the same time I was contacted by my Credit union via email and rocket mortgage both with offers a full % point lower - However - New Rez did not wish to make a counter offer because I "signed" a lock in letter which is supposed to protect us from rate hikes - My only other experience years ago was a lock in rate letter that would protect from rate hikes but also allow an adjustment if there was a significant drop in rates.... Also I asked a specific question to my processor 3 or 4 times before I got the specific answer that delayed closing a few days... Plus I was not notified for 2 weeks after submitting our ID cards that one was not satisfactory - The other delay was due to the State of GA DMV providing wrong information. but if we had known a week earlier and gotten a response a few days earlier to our questions we could have closed 5-7 days earlier... We were not advised of repairs that required to home after inspection prior to closing until I asked specifically so that delayed the process also... all in all taking 6 full weeks seems too long for this process... Very Very stress full

The initial process was great, Jason was very responsive and explained everything to me. I was then referred to John Simmons - I needed to follow up with several times for answers to my emails/questions (which was challenging and frustrating). There was a delay in my closing due to the deed being in a Trust (out of New Rez's control) however, I was told it wouldn't be an issue and it was. I needed to spend an extra $1200 to take the deed out of the trust and update it with my lawyer. We closed a few days before my rate expired (thankfully) - although it was stressful, I was grateful we closed on time.
